The Poisoner: I.V. Ophelia’s Debut Gothic Dark Romance Novel

The day is finally here and I am feeling ALL sorts of things about it.

I wanted to take the time to thank everyone who has been getting excited to read my book. I wouldn’t have done it without you. My stories have always been for personal pleasure and fun, but I never thought so many people would want to read my work!

It all started with the cover, which was shot by Isabel Malia. The model was my college orientation roommate, Bailey Harris. The hair artist was my hairdresser and colorist, Vanessa Luciano. Lastly, the snake was a random pet snake in NYC named “Baby Noodle”, owned by Lydia Lux!

From there, I had to design my book cover , the exterior, the interior, and format myself with the help of a few friends for second looks.

In addition, I commissioned character references from artists or used public domain art from the 1800s to fill the book with as much personality as possible. I scanned in my own personal collection of fashion plates and clippings from The Young Ladies Journal and used my own collection of 19th-century gowns as references for some character art!

While doing that, I met the most wonderful group of readers and authors who have hyped and supported my book from the beginning!

The final task was saving up for my own editor, Tiffany, who has been an absolute dream to work with!

I wanted to treat this book as not just a story, but a piece of art, all the way down to the small details. If I pay for all those pages, I might as well ensure they’re full!

I hope everyone enjoys the story!
